artificial-confidence asked: That's exactly why I applied to CGS as undecided:/ I wish I would have known all this...but I'm sorry about the whole transferring problem, that's awful. We can hate CGS together when I get there:)

Have you already committed to BU? I recommend looking into other schools that you got into as well before committing because CGS is pretty much like a community college (except they grade much harder because of grade deflation, which is something else you should look into as well) and not worth your time and money haha

lovelee-me asked: in your opinion why do you think CGS is a waste of time?

It’s a waste of your time because you’re pretty much taking community college classes, but you’re just paying a bunch of more money just to take it at BU. It’s not a bad college for some people. Actually, some people rather like it because it is very easy for them. I don’t like it because your schedule is not flexible, you can’t take many of the classes you need to take for your major, and the grading is completely unfair because of grade deflation (which is another think you should look into before coming here). I highly recommend not coming here if you are looking into engineering because it is almost impossible to go from CGS to ENG and graduate in 4 years. Since I came in undecided and directly applied to CGS, I was never informed that it was difficult to transfer into ENG, so now I am falling WAY behind everyone else and I have to overload every semester which is extremely difficult especially at this school and also take 2 difficult courses every summer until my junior year. It is easier to transfer to any other college from CGS, but you are still behind on the work since you have to be in CGS for 2 years. Anyway, hope this helps and just to let you know BU is a great school, just not CGS.

artificial-confidence asked: In regards to your post about CGS..I really wish I would have known that it was the least accredited school at bu when I applied,. :/ lol but is it possible to transfer to CAS, or any other school at bu, before that two years?

No, unfortunately it is not. I directly applied undecided to CGS because I didn’t know it was the reject school or that it would be difficult to transfer into the engineering school so I am stuck there for 2 years and I have been trying to get it out but they won’t let me no matter what. CGS isn’t a bad program, but if you’re trying to go into the college of engineering then it is the worst decision. if you’re going into any other college its not that bad, but it all depends on what you prefer.

TO THE KIDS WHO ARE CONSIDERING GOING TO BOSTON UNIVERSITY:

Do not come here if you have been accepted to CGS (College of General Studies).

CGS is the reject school and it is a waste of two years, so if you are stuck between BU and another school, choose the other school.

If you are in any other college at BU then definitely come, but CGS is not worth your time and money. I learned the hard way.

Just being honest!
